The purpose of this series, developed during a long period of time (1990/1999), fits into the concept of re- cycling, with which the artist has worked in several projects. In them the intention to use discarded mate- rial in art processes that denounce the wastage and deterioration of nature is highlighted. There is a wish of interfering in the comings and goings of the city, rescuing old rocks from old demolished houses, broken pavements or even digged from the soil of new buildings. These residues found in the urban environment are transformed into sculptural spaces that incorporate plants to create another landscape. The set of troughs is accompanied by a video indicating the places where the rocks were found as well as images of the quarries that exploit the earth. The artist’s sentence ‘My work material is myself interacting with the environment where I find myself’ placed together defines his concept of action.
