WH THIS PROGRAM ?

Preparing the Future Through Culture

The world is progressing and transforming, and we can no longer content ourselves with contemplating and preserving the past. It is now essential to prepare for the future through culture: its creation tools, new economies, technologies, aesthetics, education and new legislation.

“Thinkers of the World, Guests at ICESCO” promotes a culture of plurality. It invites us to rethink the world by rejecting conflict, discrimination and precariousness, while fostering a vision of shared living, knowledge and mutual recognition. It is supported by the ICESCO International Network of Chairs of Thought, Literature and Arts.

THE PROGRAM

Two Pillars, One Vision

01.

Cultural rights safeguard the ability of individuals and communities to express their humanity, their worldview, and the meaning they give to their lives and fulfillment.

In 2024, the Culture Sector is preparing a study entitled “ICESCO’s Vision for the Promotion of Cultural Rights and Access to Culture” — a reference document presenting conceptual foundations, ICESCO’s vision, and key implementation guidelines.

Promotion of Cultural Rights in the Islamic World

CONTEXT

Thinkers of the World, Guests at ICESCO

«Thinkers of the World, Guests at ICESCO» is an international program launched in 2021, fostering in-person debates with scientific, artistic, and cultural figures from across the globe.

This initiative highlights ICESCO’s dedication to reaching the core of a humanity that values all its aspects, skills, and knowledge a humanity concerned with its diversity, justice, equality, and freedom, far removed from standardization, modeling, or trivialization, and free from prejudice or bias.

The program promotes a culture of plurality, intended to rethink the world by rejecting conflict, discrimination, and precariousness, while fostering a vision of shared living, knowledge, and mutual recognition. These meetings, which have now reached their tenth edition, serve as a platform for dialogue.
